Our classroom currently does not have any student devices. I would love to be able to incorporate technology into our daily routine and support my students in developing the necessary skills to thrive in the twenty first century. Because I work with first graders, having laptops would be a productive way to support our small group centers in all content areas. Not only would having devices in the classroom allow my students opportunities to practice their skills in Reading Workshop and Math Workshop, it would allow them to research and create in Writing Workshop, Science, and Social Studies. Students will be able to practice working in Google Classroom should distance learning become necessary. I am also the computer/technology teacher, so giving my students ample keyboard practice is vital.
