As a first year teacher, I am beginning to build my classroom library. Please help me give my students literature to enhance their reading and comprehension skills. I want to include transformative literature in our classroom to create a sense of belonging and equality. It is important to me that my students feel included and welcomed within the classroom. I would love to have pieces of literature where students are able to learn about historical events, view themselves in the book they are reading, learn about other ethnicities and cultures, and to read about other viewpoints.
