I believe having this book as something we can talk about daily and seeing someone that looks like them, it will be an engaging experience. This will help students learn different reading skills, build relationships through dialogue, and share experiences. While reading this book, it will increase my students confidence to discuss texts, engage in dialogue and learn new vocabulary words. My students will be able to use this book to unpack target skills such as character actions, events, author's purpose, main idea, and even some personal skills like conflict resolution.

About my class
