In my setting, my students need frequent sensory breaks to help them not get overstimulated. My students have high needs, and when I don't have the right tools, my students can't learn in the way that they need to so they can be successful. The arts and crafts in my cart are to help students feel many different textures when we are doing art projects. The manipulatives and kinetic sand will help my students have an opportunity to play with different textures after their academic instruction. In a world full of so much chaos, I want my classroom to be a place where my students can feel safe. In order to feel safe, my students need to have their needs met. One of these needs is sensory needs. My classroom is a refuge where students can receive these breaks whenever they need one, or if they need to calm themselves down. Help me help my students have these needed breaks with the materials I need.
