The products selected were intentionally selected to help grasp the attention of 4-year-olds. I am requesting manipulatives because I understand that tactile learning is essential. I am also requesting paint so that when we are reading and learning the students can reinvent the characters they are reading about. I have requested puppets so that my students can better conceptualize the characters in the books in an effort to help them tap into their imaginations. I also want to cater to my visual learners, and I am requesting all types of letters and sight words to foster student learning unconsciously. I hope to paint and create images from Curious George with my students as we dive into storybooks such as this. Studies show that students retain more information if vibrant colors are used hence my request for crayons, colored pencils, and paint. My hope is to incorporate each of my student's creative genius so that they can grasp larger ideas such as characters and key details in a text. It is truly simple and often small things that help enhance a small child's learning.
