In these unusual times, kids need as many tools as possible to deal with relationships, stress, and emotions. The materials for this project will help me teach social emotional skills that enable kids to have healthy coping skills, self-regulation, and good relationships. When kids can be mindful, they can stay focused and learn to their highest potential. They also become proud and productive members of not only our classroom community, but our school and family communities! I will read stories that children can relate to, help them create mindfulness jars and YET key chains, along with counting bead breathers, and enhance our "calm down corner" using the project materials. I am excited to facilitate these lessons, and watch my students grow!
