This year the students will be using a new English Language Arts Curriculum! This is super exciting, as the books and content will actually represent the students in my classroom. The first unit (ironically) is Overcoming Learning Challenges Near and Far. This Unit engages the scholars in thinking about how different classrooms and learning environments look, feel, and sound different in other countries. The school has provided us with the mandatory texts, but I would love to supplement them with these recommended texts (especially as they reference many of the countries that my students are from). Thank you for the consideration to create a robust, engaging, reflective learning curriculum for my students of all backgrounds.
