Facial expressions and lip-reading are essential when operating in a fast-paced, busy, and loud environment - like a cooking lab. Face shields will help students operate under face-covering guidelines while allowing them to communicate, and shields can be sanitized at the end of each class and placed in students' personal kit as an added safety measure. Providing measuring materials - spoons and cups - will help students avoid sharing some of the most commonly-used kitchen supplies. These kits will allow students to safely operate and continue learning valuable life skills in culinary courses this year. Cooking is an essential skill that so many students do not learn before leaving home. By providing these kits, we can safely and effectively continue cooking labs as we return to school in this time of uncertainty.
