This year I am a new classroom teacher for a new teacher position. There were no prior materials left to me from an old teacher. I am building my classroom supply list on my own. My Life Skills students are hands-on learners. As a result we need lots of concrete manipulatives to help teach math concepts. With the materials, we are able to practice the same math concept like counting with several different items. This will allow mastery for student learning. Some of my students needs extra support, some are more advanced. For example the more advanced students can read number words while others know numbers with picture supports. The math materials on my list will meet the needs of my classroom learners.
