Do you remember what it was like in elementary school to be one of the first kids to read a brand new book? Do you remember seeing books with characters that you could relate to? My project focuses on adding diverse books to my classroom library so my students can find stories about people that they can relate to. From inspirational individuals, to events that shaped history, to stories that focus on tough challenges, my goal is to add a variety of books where my students are the first students to read them. The books that I have selected are a variety of different sets that will add diversity of literature to my classroom library. My students will benefit by being the first ones to read these books. This will be extremely beneficial for my students because most of the books in the school library are older and the library will not be accessible during the school year. I know that this project will not only enhance the classroom library, but the reading experience for all of my students. Thank you for reading through my project!
