With your generosity and support, these books will supplement a more diverse reading and writing curriculum so students see characters reflective of themselves and their families inciting engagement. Students will also able to learn American history through additional perspectives. With books in the classroom students will no longer need to rely on library checkout timelines and waiting on holds from my community library. National reading standards such as point of view, perspective, and text structure correspond to the texts. Genres for reading and writing such as historical fiction, non fiction, narrative and information are also modeled through the variety of texts in the set.
