During this crucial time in our nation, our health and wellness have never been more important to be conscious of in order to protect ourselves and those around us. In the technology-centric environment that we live in, the cell phone is quite possibly the dirtiest item on our person each and every day. In returning to the classroom, steps should and must be taken to protect us all.
I am hoping to provide my students with a UV Light Sanitizing station in the classroom. This would allow students to put their cell phones, their keys, smartwatches, earbuds--even their eyeglasses and face masks if need be, to be sanitized quickly and effectively against 99% germs that they may unknowingly bring with them from their home, or from another classroom space.
Students would be assigned to a lightbox further removing a chance of cross-contamination. This UV Light Sanitizing station further allows devices to be charged which is a huge benefit in class sizes upwards of 25-30 where ample outlets are not available for charging devices.
