As an educator, I am blessed to go back into the classroom after my first year of teaching was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. My school has worked tirelessly to create a plan to keep students and teachers safe in the school. The state-mandated protocols have my wiggly little 1st graders sitting in hard plastic chairs for up to 6+ hours a day as we are limited to learning at our desks instead of moving more freely around the room. If given to opportunity to receive flexible seating options, I plan to let my students pick the alternative seating options that fit their bodies best to learn with. Comfortable bodies lead to engaged minds and hands!
