I am struggling to make engaging organized lessons. My students deserve to have the best opportunity to learn and be engaged in their learning during this pandemic. By having Nearpod available, I can have the structure that looks more like what happens in the classroom with active listener response techniques embedded while offering multiple modalities for my students to keep them engaged and excited! I used the entry-level free edition to create a lesson today for our Mental Health Monday for my last class. It was fantastic to have all of the resources in a smooth place with polls and places for them to write without having to use the same two Zoom features. I was able to incorporate a space for them to write a response and then talk about their responses. It allowed them to have a voice and participate in a dialogue with others in a friendly, easy to use venue. I also was able to include a video from the Calm app to incorporate Social Emotional Learning (which our students need now more than ever.) The polling question to transition allowed for student choice! It felt like a Choose your own Adventure Book! I would be so appreciative to continue to use this platform with less limitation to meet my kiddos' needs.
