Our children love to manipulate their world and investigate ways to make things happen. These manipulatives will give the children a way to interact with literacy, math, and science concepts in a playful way. Using these manipulatives will inspire learning through active investigation and hands-on activities. We will use these supplies to introduce concepts during small group, and then the children will expand on these concepts while using the materials in center time and table activities. We will also use these materials in packets sent home for at-home services and virtual learning for parents to use while helping their child to learn concepts at home, during the COVID-19 pandemic. While using the Monster Math Balance Scale the children will be able to understand number concepts and introduce comparing in a meaningful and easy to understand way. The Magnetic Shape Sorting Rods and Comparing Sizes Activity Box will help the children understand shapes and introduce measurement and comparing concepts while playing and having fun. The Find the Letter Activity Center and Tactile Letters Lowercase will help the children gain letter knowledge by allowing the children to touch and work with the letters while completing activities found in the Teaching Strategies curriculum along with open-ended play. While investigating the Real Bugs Discovery Kit the children will get an up-close look at bugs without fear of getting hurt or allergic reactions. This diverse collection of manipulatives will help our children get a head start in school and begin their love of learning.
