Our high school is full of energetic students who just need that extra push and vote of confidence. Without someone in their lives who cheers them on and helps them to improve their basic skills these students can and will become lost in the system and not reach their potential. We are need of many things, mainly the basic resources with which to learn. With the economic challenges that face our district, like many others, there isn't enough money to buy the simplest things like dictionaries and thesauri. These are "must haves" in the classroom, especially an English classroom. With only a handful of dilapidated reference books in the classroom, students will not have the chance to improve and get help with their work. Students may also feel like no one cares about them because there are not enough books for every student.

About my class
