My class is made up of children who love learning and interacting with one another. Because of school closures last year and virtual learning this year, the social/emotional learning needs of my children are greater than ever. In first grade, we are setting a goal to achieve higher growth and reach new heights together. With these texts, my students will build a community within each other and learn about relevant emotions and coping strategies. These books included in my project teach children about the importance of friendship, positivity, collaboration, and setting goals. The stories we will learn about show the significance of growth mindset, building each other up, and dealing with really big life emotions. I am so excited and grateful for the opportunity to show them how we can make a difference in the lives of our peers, teachers, community, and the world around us. Together, I know that we will move mountains in first grade!
