We all know that we are living in a global community now. The world is no longer just outside our door and into our neighborhood. An understanding of others' experiences and cultures help us empathize, and, ultimately, be kind to everyone we meet, and reduces bullying. The books in this project are award-winning, kid-approved, and written by authors of color to ensure an authentic story, and will be used in literature circles, as well as available in my classroom library for all students to read. Help me provide windows into the lives of characters who are diverse and will stretch my students' multi-cultural understanding.

About my class
