Not being certain on how Texas schools will start this year has made for a very stressful summer. While I prepare to be back in the classroom, with Covid 19 numbers going up daily there is no guarantee. When distance learning came at us abruptly we were not prepared. We relied on technology and unfortunately our students did not have internet access, which was a major problem. With this printer I will have the ability to print materials ahead of time and have them ready if the need arises. I create a lot of teacher made activities and a lot of visual tactile resources for my English language learners so a color printer will contribute to our vision. My printer is no longer functioning and I would have to go to the common one with my class in tow, Since they are to be with us the whole school day, during these trying times. Unfortunately our common printers and copiers are often unavailable or broken. When I receive this printer I will be able to print at a moments notice if we are short on reading booklets or various interactive work materials and notes. Having a printer in the classroom would also help us from being in contact with others in the building. This printer will also be helpful in planning lessons and completing my professional duties. As an educator I believe that students need a variety of tools and skill to be successful. Some students are very comfortable while others are intimidated by technology. I would like to have the opportunity to provide print rich assignments.
