These amazing, diverse picture books will allow me to plan rich, meaningful reading lessons while also allowing students to see themselves and their classmates pictured and discussed. Students are more likely to engage when they see themselves in the content. Students need books to be mirrors where they can see themselves, and windows where they can peek into other cultures and experiences. The books I have carefully curated will help students find themselves in excellent literature and work to further engage students in daily reading lessons done through digital video platforms. Students will be able to enjoy the stories told through these diverse texts over and over as they access the digital learning platform.
