These books will bring more diversity in the classroom. With our growing cultures, we want to bring more books that students can see themselves in. Our students need to be proud of their heritage and traditions. Also, our students need to learn to respect the differences in each other. These books will also bring life-like characters for the students to relate better. Books with children as characters allow students to see the books as a mirror or a window. The mirror is a reflection of themselves and a window allows them to watch others. Books should be inspiring and relatable. All of these books have been chosen to better enhance the learning and engage my students in our reading lessons.
