This project will add books about STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) and kindness to our classroom. We will use these materials during independent reading times and as read-a-louds to initiate discussions. Introducing STEAM at a young age, like 2nd grade, helps foster a curiosity and passion around learning. It also shows students opportunities for their future that they otherwise would not have known. Additionally, reading books about topics of interest encourages a love for reading! The books about kindness will be an incredible addition to our classroom. It is so important that students value others and act with kindness despite difference or peer pressure.

About my class
