Each period, I have 25+ students in each class. In the multimedia curriculum, students are given individual assignments, which often require listening or recording of sounds. Students will create slideshow presentations, do research projects and make informational videos. Every student needs access to headphones since everyone will be working in one room. Those that don’t have headphones either miss instructions, have to take extra work home, or have to hold the Chromebook up to their face to hear the speakers. For example, when students are doing lessons to teach them coding, they need to be able to hear the instructions. Students that don’t have earbuds or headphones already start out at a deficit to be able to complete the task and complete it well. Most of the students in my class will have their own headphones. These will be available to be borrowed by kids who can’t afford them when they come to class. I’m looking forward to being able to allow students this opportunity and help them succeed in my class.
