Foundational Standard 2 of the Nevada Library Standards states that students will demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to inclusiveness and respect for diversity in the learning community. Books let you see the world without needing a passport, without fearing getting sick, and even without needing internet connection. Being cooped up for over a year, the students at my school are excited to see not only what is around them but what goes beyond the walls of Las Vegas. These books and consumables will not only help them travel, but also appreciate the diversity available in our city.
