With the upcoming school year most likely having an online component, the need for digital resources has become undeniable. Expanding my online resources will allow my students to engage in more interactive tools that would meet more of their individual needs. The need to connect with my students has never been greater than now. With students outside the traditional classroom for five months, students social and emotional needs are the greatest priority. Having digital tools to connect with them will help build relationships and so connections can be made. Expanding my classroom library means adding diverse authors and cultural experiences students have through literature. I hope to read these books, either digitally or in person, and have an opportunity to discuss the various themes that are presented. Students can connect to a character's challenges and triumphs. Books allow students to imagine how to handle certain situations that they may never have had to experience before. Books are also great insights in some of the most inspiring stories from the past. By diversifying my library, I hope to open up those experiences that my students can obtain.
