NVCHS is the first all-girls charter school in Los Angeles and is on the campus of St. Anne’s maternity home. About half of our students are pregnant or parenting and many have spent time in the foster care or juvenile justice system. We also have many students who are not parenting but have chosen our school because they wish to be in a small, girls-only environment. Students at NVCHS range in age from 14 to 21 and many have faced some degree of trauma in their lives. They come to us looking for a safe, nurturing environment that will help them experience academic success in a way they have not been able to before. A growing number of our students go on to attend community college and other four year institutions.
