Face-to-face learning will be taking place in the Fall 2020 school year. My classroom is in need of manipulatives such as timers, creative games, story cubes and other hand held objects help my students to comprehend stories and novels. I would like to supply them with some non-screen activities they can do during the school year that will keep them busy, engaged, and excited to learn their novel studies and short stories. In our classroom, we will use the timers for "speed stories." We will use the vocabulary rings for them to build and add their vocabulary all year long.. Objectives being met include comprehension, vocabulary building and writing. You cannot have writing without reading and you cannot have reading without writing. Included is also the novel "A Long Walk to Water." A fiction novel with themes of perseverance and working towards and attaining goals.
