These books will act as resources for students who are coming back to school during this uncertain time. The focus of these books include learning about basic feelings, teaching techniques for calming down, dealing with worry and anxiety, navigating the logistics of school during COVID-19, and so much more. Going back to school during a pandemic means that social emotional learning will be more crucial than ever before. Students will be coming back this fall after being away from school for almost five months, many encountering a great deal of stress, hardship, and/or inconsistency during this time. Extra attention will be paid to supporting their emotional well-being as well as filling their toolboxes with strategies they can use to work towards self-regulation. Although I cannot take away the uncertainty and instability that has come with COVID-19, the one thing I can make my students feel certain about is how much I care about their well-being and that I will do everything I can to make them feel safe and loved while they are at school.
