In my typical classroom, students are able to move around, work in groups at tables, share spaces, and learn together. Moving into the 2020 school year, our students will be expected to sit at their desk all day, including for breakfast and lunch, to help keep all students and staff safe. I personally struggle to sit in one spot for so long, and can only imagine how hard it will be for 9 year olds. My hope is to provide them with “wiggle cushions” to allow them some movement, provide a more comfortable seating option, and still provide flexible seating even during Covid-19.
