The color printer will be used to print materials IN COLOR so that students can better grasp concepts, and ideas. Currently, I only have the ability to print in black and white. This greatly reduces details, additionally, when teaching reading we use different colors for sounds/letters. When in black and white, it just doesn't work. With so many students (half of my class) scoring below the 40th percentile they need all the additional support they can get. Sorting consonants from vowels is just one way this would be used in the classroom.
