The use of rest time cots is a daily occurrence in my classroom. The students begin their day early and are in the “go mode” all day. My Pre-K students have a very busy schedule from the moment they enter the classroom. Pre-K students learn through social experience, so much of their time is spent interacting with classmates during center play and movement activities as well as outdoor activities. The students are very active and use a lot of energy. In our daily schedule, rest/nap time is included. By the time this block comes around, the children are ready to “crash” and rest. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve the students' rest time by making them comfortable, but you will also ultimately help to re-energize them. This will in turn help increase their academic achievement as well as the ability to interact positively with classmates.
