My students must keep up with current events and social-emotional articles to spark an interest in reading. Students in my classroom like to read about themselves and current events. My school media center doesn't have a large collection of magazines, so I would like to have magazines that hold their interests and keep them reading in my classroom. The magazine "Choices" helps to give students valuable advice without an adult "preaching" to them. It's a win-win because they are reading and also helping themselves. "The New York Times Up Front" supports their AP Language and Composition by providing them with articles not found in the textbooks. They can use those as resources when writing.
