Our 2020 season started in January when new team members were introduced to each other and the robot kits. They built their first simple robot, learned the names of parts and learned basic programming techniques. Teams and roles were established, and members chose what position they wanted to hold on the team. In the Spring we had inter program robotics competitions between the teams to encourage their hands-on learning. Teams began their Engineering Notebook and recorded the results of the testing they performed. When school shut down, we began virtual meetings doing background research on FIRST's new season theme. We will create and run an experiment using the Scientific Method where an innovation is tested. Our official FIRST Lego League season starts in August with the release of the new Challenge material. We will build our new robots to solve the missions on the table and create our Project presentations. Team members practice Core Values at every meeting, they learn how to get along with people who have different ideas and solve disputes in an equitable manner.
