This literature-based project focuses on the social-emotional development and health of elementary children. Our students have experienced unique education challenges and social separation during the COVID-19 pandemic. The My Dragon book collection is a fun and engaging way to teach students how to manage emotions like anger and anxiety and develop the coping skills they need to be successful and build positive relationships. Students will love listening and reading about the real-life situations in these books. Teachers and students will be able to have rich conversations about the books' topics and help students understand and develop personal applications. Children are resilient. By providing them with effective instruction that focuses on the whole child, they will develop the social-emotional skills they need to build positive relationships and communicate appropriately, helping them be successful.
