The items I have selected will build our classroom library to give the students an opportunity to read books that interest them. I selected each book based on the positive message that can be received by my students. I hope with having a large selection of books that my students will be encouraged to focus during independent reading time in the classroom and carry over reading at home. Increasing their interest in independent reading will strengthen reading abilities and confidence to build strong readers. The books selected will also be great for participation in whole group story time and building social skills.
