These books will set the tone for the classroom that I am developing. In my classroom, my students will learn to value their experiences and bring voice to their lives. They will learn about their narratives and we will emphasis the importance of social justice in this world. My classroom will be a place that fosters social justice by incorporating text that values and centers the experiences of my students. Each book was selected with the idea of providing my students with access to rich text that values them as humans in this world. Books provide us with the opportunity to see ourselves and learn about those around us. The books that are on the list were selected with my students' interests and lives in mind. These books will provide a positive cultural narrative for each of my students. Their lives and experiences will be valued through each of these books. Every book will be placed in our classroom library. I cannot wait for my students to come into our classroom and use the classroom library to access each of these stories.
