These materials will be an incredible addition to my first classroom library! My 1st graders will be in the beginning stages of literacy development, and I want to ensure that I have knowledge building texts. Each set of books has a common theme or subject. Reading various books on a common theme will help with reading comprehension, while exposing students to new vocabulary! Additionally, a majority of my students do not have access to books at home or in the community. I want to ensure that they will have full access to diverse and interesting texts in my classroom. This will become a part of our classroom “Hack’s Pack: Love our Library” space, where we gather as a family and share our love for reading!
