The new CDC guidelines being implemented into schools require wearing masks and social distancing. Wearing a mask will muffle my voice requiring me to speak louder and students as well. Amplifying my voice will help English-language learners and students with disabilities to focus on lessons and isolate competing sounds that may be distracting. When properly amplified, sound in a classroom improves students' attention, and thus their interactions increase. They learn and retain more through increased hearing ability, elevating their word comprehension, and improving their phonemic awareness. First graders enjoy being read to, share their written stories, and just talk! Having a classroom amplification system will allow students to hear, and speak clearly. Also, students will continue to receive the best learning experience during these difficult times.
