A culturally diverse classroom library is important! My students need to hear stories that represent them, their culture, their community, and their world. In light of all that is going on in our world, now more than ever we need to meet this urgent need. In our increasingly diverse society, it’s more important than ever for teachers to incorporate culturally responsive instruction in the classroom. Fostering inclusion and awareness around multicultural education and taking a culturally responsive approach to teaching benefits all students. These books will create greater multicultural awareness and promote inclusion to help students with different backgrounds and needs succeed. While encouraging acceptance and helping to prepare students to thrive in an exponentially diverse world.
