Learning remotely has been a challenge. NEARPOD is an instructional platform that merges formative assessment and dynamic media for students to have a collaborative learning experience. This summer I enrolled in a professional development course in Nearpod. This learning platform can easily synchronize my classroom projects and I can control live lessons across all student devices. As a Digital Technology Fundamental teacher, I teach students about technology such as the Internet of Things, Google Suite for Education Apps and a concentration for students to learn how to touch type. These are all ESSENTIAL skills. NEARPOD features a web conferencing platform for distance learning. This platform will be excellent because our school district's plans are to allow for a hybrid student learning environment: face-to-face meetings and learning remotely synchronously. NEARPOD would be an excellent tool to use for a synchronous learning environment. NEARPOD's learning platform will be an asset to my classroom. As a NEARPOD teacher, I can create interactive, valuable lessons for a class of students (group) and self-paced lessons for students at home to use.
