The specific items I have selected for my classroom will give my students additional seating with OPTIONS! As the year progresses and the students learn how to properly use and engage with their peers in a more flexible environment, the kids will slowly gain more and more independence. My goal is to have the children utilizing our new space independently by 80 percent at the end of the school year. Active learning and engagement improves retention in children. Specifically, the wobble chairs will be utilized in a small group setting several times a day. The wobble seats not only improve posture while sitting, it helps children pay attention. The rocking motion that it allows provides movement input for the Nervous System, that can be calming and organizing for the brain. The Bouncy Bands for Chairs help students move while they work. Children enjoy bouncing their feet and feeling the tension to relieve their anxiety, hyperactivity, frustration, or boredom. The Wiggle seats are especially useful for kids who are active, as it helps to absorb their energy and allows them to keep more focused and sit still for longer. The wiggle seats can be used in desks and on the carpet in several settings throughout the day. Thank you in advance for your support!
