My goal this school year was to create STEM bins for my students to use in the morning or during other appropriate times in the day. Now that we are facing many new challenges this new school year, I thought of a new way to do this while keeping student groups and shared items to a minimum. Each student will have their own task box to work in during the day. All of the boxes will have different items for students to practice writing, number and letter recognition, practice cutting, and even imaginative building. Students will be able to draw letters in sand, create numbers with pompoms, string letters to create sight words, create animals or objects with tangrams and even just build with K'Nex and Legos. These boxes will primarily be used as morning work, instead of review worksheets. This is a different way of reviewing important skills as well as strengthening new skills. The boxes will be rotated daily so students will get a new task box each day to work.
