I did a lot of research before picking my first novel study. I chose this book because not only will my students love it, but it will help set up a great classroom community and culture. Who doesn't love animals? This special novel uses animals that teach students to value what makes themselves and others unique, kindness, and using creativity to express themselves. As a reading teacher, it is so important to get students hooked on books they love. As student's grow older they begin to stop reading for fun. This is the age where it's so important to help them stay hooked on reading, and I really think this the kind of book that helps recapture students' love of reading. Thank you for helping me have the opportunity to share this story with them!
