I am starting my second year of teaching in second grade in an amazing school. My whole project is being able to help my students during small group rotation for guided reading and math. I learned very quickly last year that the students were great with the rotation schedule and knowing what they had to do, but the materials always seemed to cause some type of issue. By providing my students with more durable and flexible materials my students will be able to succeed during both small group rotations. The more durable materials include stools for the back table. Yay! No more big chairs to cause the students not to have enough space at the table. More durable book bins! My students last year loved their book bins, but by the time march came many of the book bins were ripped and falling part. Lastly, this project will be providing flexible materials for the back table. I know my students will love all of these durable items that will help in their small group instruction.
