This project will offer experiences for students to share with their mates regarding diversity and things happening in the news today. One specific title, "Mama, did you see the news," addresses a student's questions regarding the challenging media climate today. Other titles will provide positive reinforcement to students who are dealing with their own self image, while trying to understand the different cultures surrounding them both in the community and school environment. The titles will be provided to encourage partner reading and at home experiences as well to fortify the school-home partnership.
