My school starts our mornings off with books and breakfast. But my 8th graders aren't interested in reading and have never fostered that love to read. I attribute this to never finding that special book that hooks them and that they like. It also doesn't help that the books currently in my classroom library look/seem like they are from the 1960s. I want my students to learn to love reading for fun, entertainment, and pleasure. I had my students make a list of books, novels, series, comic books, or manga they would be interested in reading. Please help me foster that hunger, desire, and wonder in my 8th graders for years to come!
