Our school is participating in Celebrate Literacy Week - this will be a school-wide effort to promote a love for reading through a variety of literacy activities! Since everyone is participating, it promotes school spirit, initiates healthy habits, and encourages independent reading! Every student will receive a mini flashlight and take part in “Reading Under the Stars”! We will set the mood for reading by turning down the lights and following along as we explore new worlds through the pages of a book! By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. Students will be able to use the flashlights in class for regular Flashlight Fridays and take them home to continue the habit of independent reading!
