For those of you who do not know, flexible seating is simply a place to sit that isn't your typical chair and table or student desk. During my first year of teaching, I had flexible seating, but I was still learning to utilize it in the best possible way. Last year, I tried typical seating, and learned quickly how great flexible seating really was. While I know each class of students is different, I saw a big change between my 1st and 2nd year class's ability to sit and focus. When flexible seating was in place, my students were more engaged in what was being taught rather than how to get comfortable in their hard plastic chairs. I have already purchased floor cushions, scoop chairs, exercise balls, and metal stools. The addition of wobble stools to my classroom would provide students another seating option that would allow them to move while they worked. Thank you so much for your interest in my project!
