As a librarian, I provide access and resources for my students. Currently in Tacoma, Washington, school libraries are closed. There is not a current date when materials will be available. I would like to stock a “Little Free Library” with young adult diverse books for our students to be able to read and share. It will be located off campus near our school, so students and families can visit and access the books at any time. I am amazed by the tenacity and persistence of our students during this unprecedented time of the pandemic, and currently by their leadership in social justice activism in our city and state. TBirds Read will promote literature that reflects and honors the lives of all young people and provide resources to engage our young people in social justice.
