My students all come from low-income families. Last spring, we were able to provide our students with one Chromebook per family. While this was definitely helpful, oftentimes my students had to share this resource with their siblings, leaving my students have to do their work well into the night. Being able to provide families with more technology this year will help the most disadvantaged students keep up with their school work. They'll be able to participate in virtual learning, rather than just watch playbacks and videos. They'll be able to work on their schoolwork when they're awake and alert, rather than when they should be sleeping. Most importantly, they'll have the same opportunities as other students and perhaps level the playing field a bit.
